After immigrating to New Braunfels from Germany, many Germans tend to get homesick around the holidays, when asked why they become homesick most respond
I miss the open-air Christmas Markets, the shopping, the food, the Gluehwein and the sense of community.
CHRISTKINDLMARKT visitors will enjoy German inspired food and drinks as well as items like toys, books and Christmas ornaments from open-air stalls, accompanied by live entertainment. The goal of the Christkindlmarkt is to commemorate the German heritage of our city, which has been an important role in the cultural life of New Braunfels since it was founded by Germans in 1845.
With this event, we hope to promote local businesses and tourism, while bringing the community together for two fun-filled days of food, shopping and entertainment the way our German Ancestors continue to do it today.
